Build back better youth fund

Build Back Better - Youth Fund is part of the wider Build Back Better Councillor Scheme. As with Build Back Better, the Youth Fund is open to community groups, charities and youth projects across Gloucestershire. £318,000 is available to be spent on projects to support young people within Gloucestershire.

Each County Councillor has been allocated £3,000 in 23/24 and £3,000 in 24/25 (totaling £6,000 to use across the 2 years) to spend within their division for youth related projects and organisations who work or support young people.

The Youth Fund is supporting Gloucestershire County Council’s youth agenda for local children and young people aged 10-19 years and up to 25 for care leavers and those with Special Education Need and Disabilities (SEND). The Youth Fund will need to be seen to benefit young people and teenagers. The youth agenda is stopping anti-social behaviour, reducing substance misuse, teenage pregnancies and keeping young people safe, developing new skills, engaged in education, training, or employment.

The scheme is open to a wide range of groups and projects to support children and young people including in areas such as:

  • sport, recreation and leisure activities
  • nature and the environment
  • digital innovation for young people
  • mental health, wellbeing and building resilience
The scheme is not limited to these themes though, and all applications supported by the local Councillor within the amount allocated to them will be considered.

We will accept applications from community and voluntary organisations, charities, community interest companies, town and parish councils, sports groups and other not for profit groups.

All applications must be supported by your local County Councillor, who you can find here: Your Councillors
