End dates for Build Back Better Councillor Grant Scheme
The Build Back Better Councillor Grant Scheme has been running since 2021, with the Youth Fund element being added in 2023.
The scheme will end in 2025, and as we near the end date, the Team would like to outline the final deadlines and some helpful reminders:
- Deadline for new, fully endorsed by County Councillor, applications: 18th March 2025
- Deadline for supplementary information required as part of submitted applications: 18th April 2025
- All approved and finalised grants to be claimed via submitted Grant Acceptance Form by: 30th May 2025
Additionally, please note the following requirements to ensure projects are processed within the timeframes above. As per the grant conditions:
- If the application is over £5,000, the project will require a finance risk assessment. To ensure projects are processed within the timescales above, please submit the following information WITH the application form, which will allow the finance check to take place ASAP:

- A copy of your latest audited and signed statutory accounts to include a Statement of Income & Expenditure/Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet OR
- A copy of your most recent financial statements to include a Statement of Income & Expenditure/Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.
- If you are a newly formed organisation and can’t provide the above, please submit the most recent 12 months of bank statements or bank statements to date if your organisation is less than 12 months old
- If you are a GCC maintained school, please send a copy of the chart of accounts for the most recent financial year. (if applicable)
- Confirmation of any additional funding you have secured that is required to enable your project to proceed (if applicable)
- A copy of your organisation’s constitution (if applicable)
- A copy of your safeguarding policy and/or an outline of your procedures if your project involves working with children or vulnerable groups
- A copy of your equal opportunities policy and/or an outline of your procedures
- Any other information/documentation requested in support of your application
- Funding cannot be paid for a project which is awaiting match funding, until the match funding has been raised. Therefore, if match funding is not likely to be raised until after the 18th March 2025, the project will not be able to be funded. We require match funding to be confirmed as raised within the application form, by 18th March 2025.
- Grants cannot be paid unless all relevant consents and permissions have been obtained by 18th March 2025, therefore if the project requires permission (to use buildings/land, etc), this must be obtained before submitting the application by 18th March 2025.
It is the Cabinet’s intention to revisit the scheme following the local elections.
