Publication scheme

All public authorities are required to provide a publication scheme. The publication scheme is our way of making sure that information relating to certain categories, known as ‘information classes’, is routinely published. In addition to the information that falls into these categories, the scheme also includes information that we have disclosed in response to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
Find out more below about how the publication scheme works and how to access the information we have published.

What is the publication scheme for?

The purpose of the publication scheme is to let you know what information is readily available about us and make it simple to obtain.

The scheme allows us to do two crucial things:

1.    Enable the public to understand what information we hold.
2.    Make it easy to access the information directly.

By law the publication scheme must:

  • Set out the classes of information which we publish or intend to publish.
  • State how we will publish the information in each class.
  • State if we will provide the information free or charge for it.

Information classes

The Freedom of Information Act requires us to publish information under certain headings, termed 'classes'. Only information that meets the act’s definitions and descriptions are placed within the classes.
