Welcome to the Gloucestershire employment and skills hub

Gloucestershire Employment and Skills Hub brings together the key employment and skills provision of Gloucestershire County Council, offering an open door for residents and employers who would like information, advice, guidance or support around careers, training, skills, employment and recruitment.

Our Local Supported Employment (LSE) programmes' supported employment quality framework certificate.

About Us:

Gloucestershire’s first stop for disability employment. Whether you are looking for paid work and need help with job searching, or you’re an employer with job opportunities concerned about disability discrimination, we see the potential in disability, not the problem.

Our vision is to enable people with disabilities and health conditions to achieve their employment aspirations. We do this by providing individuals with the structured support they need that promotes independence and fulfils their ambitions. Our service is defined by the success of our customers.

What we do

Gloucestershire Employment and Skills Hub is an all age, all disability service; supporting people with disabilities achieve their employment dreams. The hub can provide help to identify skills and job goals, improve confidence, manage anxiety and overcome barriers.

We work with a wide mix of partners, from health services to employers and voluntary groups. The hub connects people to all kinds of support to help them get back into work, including help with budgeting, managing debt, and understanding benefits. We’re also here for anyone dealing with challenges while in a job, and for employers who are hiring or need advice on making their workplace more accessible for disabled people.

We're also here to help those facing challenges whilst in employment or employers who have job opportunities or require advice on how to make reasonable adjustments. To contact the Employment and Skills Hub, call 01452 425776.

The Employment and Skills is an umbrella for various Employment and Education provisions.

Connect to Work - A voluntary employment programme launched by the DWP, it aims to help individuals who are economically inactive, unemployed or at risk of losing their jobs due to disabilities or long-term health conditions. It assists people in finding and maintaining employment.

RASS - Offers dedicated support to refugees and asylum seekers across Gloucestershire who are looking for work or volunteer roles.

IPS - Individual Placement Support is a provision that supports people with substance misuse issues to secure and sustain employment.

Forwards Employment - an all age, all disability service; supporting people with disabilities achieve their employment dreams.

We have a smaller initiative which is called 100 Futures which is a programme supporting 100 young people aged between 16 and 24 to undertake a work placement which will help them to build capacity, skills, awareness and confidence, helping them to move into paid employment. The placement will be 16 hours per week for 6 weeks.

Forwards Education - Support young people on their post 16 journey into further education and employment and enables them to become active members of their community.

We have various smaller provisions such as Supported Internships, Works for Me, Step Forwards and The Careers Hub.

Employer Engagement - Our Employer Engagement team work closely with employers to promote the development of a diverse workforce and identify opportunities for our customers, some of whom have barriers to employment. We provide dedicated employer support through strategic job matching and job analysis and we promote and champion sustainable employment and retention as well providing in-work support.
