Whole Family Work
A key principle in utilising Gloucestershire’s Earliest Support Pathway is a whole family approach to identifying needs and removing barriers.
This means a family member doesn’t exist in isolation; families are a unit, working as a system, and an issue concerning one member of the family will likely affect them all. Things get more complex with different concerns affecting different family members. Drawing in some help for everyone that needs it means there is the best chance for sustained change.
This can often be best explored in a Team Around the Family (TAF) meeting and inviting those professionals supporting the family members. This then forms a multi-agency Plan or Assessment. Training to aid practitioners can be found here Glosfamilies Directory | Training in the Early Intervention training modules.
