MASH Education
Within EIS, we also have the MASH Education team; while they sit in the MASH, they are a key part of the Education Directorate. They:
- provide a research function in relation to educational settings as part of the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) to facilitate the safeguarding decision-making process, and
- work closely with EIS as well as other services within the Education Directorate, and the wider Children's Services
Their primary roles include:
- Working as part of a multi-agency team to respond to requests received from relevant decision-makers within the MASH for information on children and their families
- Carrying out research through relevant education systems and through liaison with education settings
- Sifting, gathering and extracting key data and information
- Supporting the Police with Operation Encompass
- Providing relevant support for the Designated Safeguarding Leads in the education settings
The team comprises of a Senior MASH Education Researcher and a team of MASH Education Researchers.
