How maintained schools will be selected for solar panels

Each maintained school in the county will be assessed by the council to determine its suitability for receiving solar panels.

We aim to install solar panels on the maximum number of schools possible that meet the criteria below and it is anticipated that 85 per cent of maintained schools will be suitable.

When selecting a school, we will consider:

• Property data
• Electrical rating
• Electrical installation
• Structural surveys, including the structural condition of the school roof and the load bearing capacity of the school roof
