💬Progress on the Annual SEND Surveys 2026 for SEND families and young people

Published
Thank you to all the parent carers and young people who have responded to the surveys. If you have not responded yet, there is still time! Both surveys - one for parent carers and one for young people - run until Friday, 4 December 2026. If you are a young person 16-25, with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), who is receiving education or support in Gloucestershire, or the parent carer of a child or young person with SEND aged 0-25 then these surveys are open to you.

Have your say!

To date, the SEND and Inclusion Local Area Partnership (SILAP) in Gloucestershire has received even more responses to this year's surveys than in 2025.  Thank you for taking the time to complete these.

What are the surveys for?

The Annual SEND Surveys are our way of hearing from you. They are anonymous questionnaires that ask for feedback about the Education, Health and Care services and support available for children and young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

We encourage you to take this opportunity to share your views and experiences. It is helpful and important for us to hear about the advice, support and information you currently receive, how helpful it is, and how you think support and services can improve.

The information you share in the survey will help the partnership to better understand how to make continuous improvement to the services and offer for families in Gloucestershire.

How do you complete the survey?

The survey will remain open until Friday, 4 December 2026, at 5pm.

Letting you know how we turn your feedback into action

Last year the survey was completed by 679 parent carers, predominantly from White British communities and with school-aged children between 5 to 16 years. The data was analysed and provided a baseline set of data for comparison.  Feedback and views received have been responded to via the You Said, We Did Local Offer reports for 2026.  Find the reports here:

Widening participation

This year we are working closely with schools, settings, community connectors, family hubs and dozens of organisations in Gloucestershire’s SEND community to hear from all communities across the county. In widening participation, we are especially encouraging those families with children in Early Years and those with young people aged 16 to 25 to engage.

In co-production with Gloucestershire Parent Carer Forum and SENDIASS, we have applied learning from last year. Both surveys this year are as short as possible and easier to complete – average time is 12 minutes.

Who do you contact if you would like a physical copy of the survey or have any queries?
