Have you completed a business plan?

All those wishing to create or extend their wraparound care must attach the NWCP funding application business plan to their application form (view business plan guidance). This will show how you will make the provision fully self-sustaining by September 2026.

Your business plan should contain at least the following:

  • A clear statement of what the new/expanded childcare is aiming to achieve over the next few years. There should be measurable targets
  • A brief summary of what your business intends to achieve (new/expanded places or hours), and how this will meet the needs of the community you will serve
  • How the plan will ensure children with different needs/SEND will be included – equipment/ transport/ staff
  • The context and background to your intention to create new wraparound childcare places
  • An organisation chart showing the management arrangements
  • A summary of the consultation or research undertaken which articulates the need for the proposed new wraparound provision; (PEST and SWOT analysis)
  • A marketing plan
  • A description of the anticipated benefits and beneficiaries from creating the new childcare provision
  • A financial plan showing at least a 3-year projection of income and expenditure
  • Clearly state of how all assets (for example, human, physical and intellectual) will be employed and show how legal, property and personnel issues will be addressed
  • Summarise the resources needed to run the service (ie. people, skills, accommodation and finance.
