22.    Self-Directed care

When people are employing personal assistants they take on the role of employer. Whilst those personal assistants are not governed by CQC it would be best practice to follow the guidance in this document, particularly with regards to training. Social workers should advise people at the time of assessment of the potential/need for training with particular tasks.
