Home@theHeart - Sufficiency Strategy 2025-2028

Home@theHeart is the county council's Sufficiency Strategy 2025-2028 for Children and Young People. This sets out our ambition and commitment to sourcing good quality homes in Gloucestershire for children and young people in care and care leavers, which have the right support available to meet their needs.

The Sufficiency Strategy sets out the following key priorities for Gloucestershire Children’s Services:

  • Provide quality accommodation for young people in county
  • Provide services that support young people throughout their pathway to independence
  • Reduce the number of high cost semi-independent placements
  • Improve the Council’s ability to place the most vulnerable young people in homes that comply with regulatory requirements

We aim to develop a suite of homes for our children and young people and care leavers. More details of these are below.
