How will this impact the overall workforce available?
4.9% of Gloucestershire’s total workforce currently work in care. With an expected 29% rise in the number of people receiving care and the minimal change in the number of adults of working age available to join the workforce, there is an obvious challenge to capacity.
There are already challenges in the care market with recruitment, retention, level of training and quality. With the demand per carer expected to increase, stretching the existing workforce thinner than ever, there is more pressure than ever to find solutions.
