Introduction
If you are disabled and need to make major adaptations to your home. you may be eligible for a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) to help with the costs.
Grants are provided by district councils in Gloucestershire. They are means-tested and up to £30,000. If you receive certain benefits, you may automatically qualify.
You will first need to contact Gloucestershire County Council to arrange an assessment of you needs. This will be undertaken by a suitably trained professional, such as an Occupational Therapist, who will work with you to identify the most suitable solutions.
We will carefully consider whether the proposed works are both necessary to meet your specific needs and appropriate for your home. This ensures that the adaptations provide a practical, cost-effective solution to help you live more safely and independently.
If you are eligible for help, you will be referred to your district council to complete the grant application. You can find out more about the DFG application process on our website.
