Clean Air Day & Cycle Charities

We are currently working with the Fresh Hope Cycle Project, Cyclists for Cancer and Wheel Good Vibes to help get more children on bikes in Gloucestershire. To celebrate Clean Air Day, the charities visited Dunalley Primary School and Warden Hill Primary School to chat all things bikes, their charities, play games, give away prizes (including free bike helmets) and sell some secondhand bicycles. We'll be visiting more schools from September.

*** The Fresh Hope Cycle Project needs volunteers! If you would like to be trained in bike repair and maintenance free of charge and volunteer your time to fix bikes and give back to the community, please reach out to the Cycle Project here: Cycle Project - Fresh Hope ***

Abbie Ayre and the Shed of Science

Performance in Education delivered their 'Abbie Ayre and the Shed of Science' workshop and theatre show to 10 primary schools in Gloucestershire during the week of Clean Air Day. The engaging and interactive performance and workshop investigates the causes and concerns of poor air quality and promotes safe active travel to primary school.

Clean Air Day 2024

Clean Air Day Competition

In 2024 we hosted a 'Clean Air Day Superhero' competition for primary schools, reminded people of sustainable travel options on buses and launched our interactive Air Quality Monitoring Dashboard.

Thank you to all those who submitted their artwork. Our winner below won a £150 Halfords voucher to help them purchase a bike, scooter or accessories to help them with their sustainable travel and reduce emissions.

We also had some bus banners designed by Cheltenham Borough Council's Air Quality Education Officer, Hannah.
