What is it?

This grant is to encourage property owners to switch to low carbon heating systems. The grants are designed to help property owners overcome the upfront costs of low carbon heating technologies.

Eligibility: you must...

👉own the property you’re applying for (including if it’s a business, a second home, or a property you rent out to tenants)

The home must be currently heated by one of the following:

- electric room heaters
- Electric storage heaters
- Electric warm air system
- Solid fuel room heaters
- Solid fuel heating system

Eligibility:

👉Must own property, property is not heated by gas and be eligible for at least one benefit (child tax credit, housing benefit, UC, income support etc).

This is designed to encourage the adoption of renewable energy by ensuring that small-scale generators, such as solar panel owners, are compensated for the surplus electricity they export to the national grid. Open to solar panel system owners with a capacity of up to 5MW.

Homeowners with solar panels, wind turbines, or other renewable energy systems. Must have a smart meter or alternative and MCS certified.

If you’re eligible, your electricity supplier will apply the discount to your bill. The money is not paid to you.

You may be able to get the discount on your gas bill instead if your supplier provides you with both gas and electricity and you’re eligible. Contact your supplier to find out.
