Minerals
Gloucestershire County Council adopted the Minerals Local Plan for Gloucestershire on 20th March 2020. It is the plan against which all planning applications for future minerals development throughout the county must be assessed. It has been drawn up by the County Council in consultation with the community and other interested parties. In law it is described as a development plan document and is part of the development plan for Gloucestershire. It consists of strategic and non-strategic planning policies relating to mineral matters. The Minerals Local Plan for Gloucestershire must be subject to a statutory review by no later than March 2025.
The Minerals Local Plan for Gloucestershire is 'Building with Nature' accredited. It also received a commendation for 'Excellence in Plan Making Practice' at the Royal Town Planning Institute South West Awards 2020.
The Plan maps against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: 9 - industry, innovation and infrastructure; 11 - Sustainable cities and communities; 12 - responsible consumption and production; 13 - climate action; and 15 - life on land.
The Minerals Local Plan for Gloucestershire has been divided into a number of sections. The tiles below provide access to the plan's sections. However, it must be stressed that:
'The plan should be read and interpreted in its entirety with due regard paid to all of the relevant policies and proposals included within it.'
