Injury and mobility
If you need support after leaving the military due to injury, limited mobility, or help to live independently, there are services that can assist you.
Disabled Facilities Grant – Gloucestershire County Council
- Helps cover the cost of home adaptations to improve safety and mobility
- Available to homeowners, tenants, and mobile home residents (not limited to the person with the disability)
- Requires a referral from an Occupational Therapist before an application can be considered

If your application is unsuccessful, you may be able to get help from the Royal British Legion – Household Adaptations.
Royal British Legion
- Can help you access mobility aids such as stair lifts or scooters
- Offers a free care phone installation for those living alone or recently discharged from hospital who are concerned about falls or mobility

- Volunteers can help you apply for financial support to fund mobility equipment
