Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

PTSD is an anxiety disorder caused by very stressful, frightening or distressing events. It affects around 1 in 3 people who experience trauma, though it’s not always clear why some people develop it and others do not.

If you're concerned about PTSD, speak to your GP. They can refer you to a specialist service for assessment and treatment.
