May’s Families in Partnership newsletter for families with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
In May’s issue we have an article on supporting families in Gloucestershire with cost-of-living concerns, activities and wellbeing. There are also several links to surveys in this edition of the newsletter, which ask for opinions from SEND families through the Gloucestershire SEND Sufficiency Strategy 2026-2031 to the Local Offer Education Support and Graduated Pathway Survey. And there’s also a helpful summary on the Annual SEND Parent Carer Survey.
In response to feedback from SEND Parent Carers, the Health Visiting, School Nursing and Early Years Services I have co-produced an article around information on toilet training.
The newsletter also has details of awareness events in the coming weeks and how the SEND space in Gloucestershire is supporting those events.
The news article from across the partnership also links to a great video on the topping out ceremony at the new special school Gloucestershire Academy for Inspirational Learning (GAIL) at Wheatridge East in Abbeydale.
If you’re reading this newsletter for the first time, we hope you find it useful. If there is a change we should make; or if you would like something to be featured (especially a celebration of a child or young person with SEND); or if you have any questions then please email us - familiesinpartnership@gloucestershire.gov.uk
If you are part of a SEND family, please subscribe to the monthly Families in Partnership newsletter. Please tell all those in your communities, who may find the newsletter useful too.
