Information for Individuals, Householders, and Families

Resources and Information
There are lots of resources available to individuals and families in Gloucestershire that can help us prepare for and respond to emergencies:
- Priority Services Registers (PSR) - Priority Services Registers are used by utility companies to keep a record of customers who may need extra support during power, gas, or water interruptions. As part of a PSR, you would receive priority assistance and tailored communication in the event of a disruption. Remember to contact each of your utility providers separately to register for this service. Some examples of those eligible can include:
- Of pensionable age
- Chronically sick
- Registered disabled
- Have other specific needs such as sight loss, hearing loss or a mental health condition
- Living with children under 5
- Household Emergency Plan – create a simple household emergency plan to keep all the important information you might need in an emergency in one place. Print out a copy and keep it to hand e.g. on the fridge.
- ‘Are You Ready’ booklet – created by Gloucestershire Local Resilience Forum partners, this booklet brings together lots of advice, guidance and resources about different risks we face in Gloucestershire to help you prepare for and respond to emergencies. This includes a checklist of things to keep in a ‘Grab Bag’ so you have essentials available to you quickly in the event of an emergency.
